Artist's Statement & Bio: Born Valentines day the year of 1979 I have been searching for a way to use my creative abilities to support my way of life. Apprenticing under an artist named Doug Benko I acquired the skills necessary to form 24 gauge cold roll steel into any shape, creature, or object I desired. After recovering from a motorcycle accident in 1998 resulting in total paralysis of my left arm I worked in Sedona Arizona for a year with an artist named Julie Troyer. I then moved to Albuquerque New Mexico and took classes at TVI community college. There I discovered the wonders of air brushing. Not in class but from an artist named Shawn Grimes. Using Pell grants and eventually student loans I acquired the materials needed to start my own studio. Since then I’ve relied solely on making sculptures for a living. | |
